Dear Friends,
At a time when so many things feel unsettled, divided and raw, my friend and favorite #possibilitarian, Kelly Rae Roberts has started a project called #artistsforlove; a movement to remind each other that although “We may hold different political beliefs, we can still hold one another. And Love is the container in which we can hold one another”.
She is a very wise woman because my meditation teacher, Shri Anandi Ma said the exact same this week while I was in California. At a time when there’s so much uncertainty, opposition and negativity, responding in the same way is not going to solve anything. That doesn’t mean people shouldn’t speak up, but instead of crying out in fear and anger we should cray out in love. By using our voices through the power of love and positive energy from our yoga practices, like Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, we are more likely to make a lasting impact.
In Kelly Rae’s blog post here, she shares a beautiful quote by Tennessee Williams:
“The world is violent and mercurial – it will have its way with you. We are saved only by love – love for each other and the love that we pour into the art we feel compelled to share: being a parent, being a writer, being a painter, being a friend. We live in a perpetually burning building, and what we must save from it, all the time, is love.”
So despite our political views, let us stand together, and hold one another in love….because LOVE ALWAYS WINS.
Below is a flyer I created that is downloadable and free. I invite you to download (click image for immediate download), print, and/or share. There are no rules here….just a message that we stand together.
With lots of LOVE,
Kajal
