Baked to a Golden Perfection :)?
I’m so excited about wrapping this week up and packing up for my favorite annual meditation retreat, Dhyanyoga Center’s Mahasamadhi Retreat. A retreat that celebrates the inspiring life of Shri Dhyanyogiji and the teachings he so kindly left for his students.
I’ve attended this retreat since 1997….when I was a wee-little college girl :), I can’t believe it’s been 19 years—my how time passes by in a flash! What I love most about this retreat is how Anandi Ma, the current teacher in this powerful line of masters, beautifully cooks up the weekend so that each student has the opportunity to taste and savor the four main paths of yoga…:
- Karma Yoga– the path of action
- Bhakti Yoga– the path of devotion
- Raja Yoga– the path of meditation (and mental control)
- Jnana Yoga– the path of knowledge
The Main Course & Dessert : raja yoga
The focus of the retreat is generally a delicately packed schedule of ancient yoga practices and is finished off with divinely sweet and special meditations led by Dileepji and Shri Anandi Ma.
The Sides: karma yoga, bhakti yoga & jnana yoga
In between, they serve up heavenly seasoned sides like: satsang (Q&A with a master), kirtan (chanting from the heart), seva (selfless service), sattvic meals (food prepared with love & purity guidelines), and the opportunity to bask in the company of other like-minded, peace-loving yogi’s :).
Soul-full
It’s pretty inevitable that by the end of the weekend all hearts and minds in attendance get baked to a golden perfection :); it’s quite a delightful meal for the soul :)!!! I always leave this weekend feeling so inspired, refreshed, centered and overflowing with love!
Join Me!
If you haven’t guessed by now, I generally have the honor to be one of several kitchen coordinators for the event :); a seva that I LOVE so dearly! We’ll be cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner for 165+ attendees for the 5-day affair….that in itself has always been such a huge blessing and karma-roasting adventure!
Although I’ll be closing up shop for a week, follow me on Facebook, Instagram or find me on Periscope as Wholesome Soul, as I share tidbits from the retreat, kitchen adventures and soul-full delights!
Lastly, I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment below if you have you ever attended a meditation retreat…and if so, where it was and were you baked to a golden perfection :)? Or if you’re on the hunt to find a yoga retreat, leave a comment and let’s see if we can find one for you to attend!
Lots of love,
Kajal
