Right now I’m in the middle of reading this great book by Brene Brown where she talks about cultivating self-compassion and being true to ourselves. It’s been a quick read, with lots of food for thought. Then yesterday I fell upon this Mother Teresa quote and I fell in love with it.
It made me think about how faith plays such a huge role in loving ourselves. When we have an open relationship with God, there’s no fooling him and there’s no fooling ourselves. I know when I’ve been honest and when I haven’t, I know when I’ve been kind and I haven’t. And I know when someone is projecting their feelings on me and it has nothing to do with me. But how I react I know and God does too…because in the end, like she so beautifully says, it really is just BETWEEN YOU & GOD.
What a great reminder to not get caught up in the drama of life and the relationships around us…easier said than done, but a wonderful thing to strive for.
Had to make this one into a print as I will be using it as a daily reminder for myself :). You can get one, too if you’d like!
