What are the ingredients for living a good life? 

This week I’m in CA for an annual meditation retreat that I’ve been attending for the last 20 years of my life. It’s led by teacher, Shri Anandi Ma and it’s a blissful weekend filled with intense yogic practices (sadhana), deep nuggets of wisdom (satsang) and a whole lot of cooking (my seva {selfless-service} for the week).

I’ve been fortunate enough to oversee the kitchen coordination for this event for many years now. That means….breakfast, lunch and dinner for 3 days, for 165 people :)! From creating healthy menus, long grocery lists and detailed to-do lists my weeks are packed long before the event even begins. What I love about  my seva is that it allows me to reflect and live my yoga-practice. Next week, I’m going to share more on that….

Food for thought

But for now, the above scrabble board is some food for thought…what ingredients do you use for living a good life? 

For me so much of the above resonates whole heartedly, especially the following ingredients:

  • Compassion
  • Service
  • Meaning
  • Connection
    Peace
  • LOVE
  • Gratitude
  • Happiness
  • and Meditation, of course!
